HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO SEE RESULTS FROM THERAPY?
This question varies from person to person. Some find symptom relief within six to eight sessions while others may desire long-term therapy to address life-long issues that have brought undue hardship to them over the course of their journeys. I typically recommend a three month period of weekly psychotherapy sessions where clients may evaluate the effectiveness of therapy in their lives so that they may feel empowered to make the decision to continue or discontinue therapy.
WHAT THEORIES DO YOU UTILIZE IN YOUR WORK?
Across the board, I utilize relational psychotherapy techniques to ensure that we are able to build an authentic relationship where you feel safe discussing your wants, needs, and goals for the future. In the process of getting to know each other, I can make professional recommendations to the direction of therapy, and what theory to apply (whether it be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play-Based Therapy, Psychodynamic, etc.) with your consent. I will periodically perform check-ins to gather your feedback to how things are going, and if you feel any adjustments are needed for our work together.
